Angling Society

Mirrlees Angling Society was formed in early 1982 on the new pond built on the site of the Mirrlees Blackstone sports club tennis courts. Originally named “Mirrlees Pool” this replaced the original pond that was sold as part of the New House Farm housing estate!

We now know it as “The Anglers Pond”, home to Mirrlees Angling Society, the pond has matured over the years into a well stocked pond with a variety of course fish species including double figure carp. It’s also a wildlife haven and is home to a variety of wildlife species.
